In 2008 Ellen van Loosbroek graduated at the Open Universiteit Nederland with the subject “Article 23 section 4 of the CMR-convention from a comparative law perspective (Artikel 23 lid 4 CMR in rechtsvergelijkend perspectief).

Her special areas of interest are insurance and liability law. Apart from transport law (national and international road transport, freight claims, logistics, contracts and general terms and conditions) it particularly concerns personal injury due to accidents at work, traffic accidents, domestic or sexual violence and other criminal acts.

Ellen van Loosbroek completed Basic Training in Personal Injury and Victim Cases and Specialist Training in Victim Support in serious crimes of violence and sexual misdemeanour. This means that she is the one to turn to if you are a victim of violence or sexual crime applying for criminal proceedings.

Ellen van Loosbroek is a member of the Human Rights section of the International Bar Association. She is also a member of the Netherlands network of lawyers supporting victims of crime and sexual violence (Landelijk Advocaten Netwerk Gewelds- en Zedenslachtoffers; Stichting LANGZS ) and the Netherlands association for legal-aid lawyers (Vereniging Sociale Advocatuur Nederland).
